Kid’s Room #1: Painting the Door

Bear with me on this post — it’s an intermediary step into making Kid’s Room #1 awesome. We began with a light blue door:

We had previously agreed on painting the closet doors a bright shade of green chosen by a five-year-old. I was planning on making the closet doors a sunburst (see the circle already begun in the middle of them), and really wanted them to be the focal point for that side of the room. To ensure the closet is the main event, we opted to use the remaining Sherwin-Williams Urbane Bronze on the inside of the bedroom door.

We have some serious color in the rug, so even though the door doesn’t scream “fun and lively child’s room,” I can assure you the room still feels light-hearted.

The entryway is a little blah right now, but should look a lot more exciting once the closet is painted.

Stay tuned for the world’s longest closet renovation!
